The classic 1920s cocoon silhouette in two variations. Ankle-length coat features contrast collar and cuffs, and sunburst pleats at the hipline. Knee-length coat has soft turn-back lapels and pleats radiating out from center-back neckline. Both coats are fully lined. Pattern includes professional tips for working with pile and napped fabrics, and for topnotch decorative topstitching. Suggested fabrics: For the long coat, choose medium-weight silk or rayon, silk or rayon velvet, wool or cotton jacquard, or light to medium-weight wool. Contrast collar and cuffs can be made from satin, satin jacquard, brocade, or a contrasting color of the coat fabric. For the short coat, choose drapey velvet, cotton or wool, lightweight cotton or wool jacquard, silk shantung, light-weight leather or suede.
